
Sharon Brooks Hodge is a veteran communications professional and fastidious project manager with more than four decades of experience interacting with the media, the public, and decision makers across multiple industries, academia, non-profit organizations, and governmental agencies.
An award-winning journalist who held Capitol Hill and Pentagon credentials, Sharon was a full-time reporter and editor for 15 years before holding the position as a vice president of corporate communications for a Fortune 500 financial institution then becoming an independent consultant specializing in media relations. As a communications subject matter expert, she has designed, developed, produced, implemented, and analyzed full communications strategies. Additionally, she has experience with every phase and aspect of communications and marketing campaigns.
As a project manager, Sharon has coordinated staff activities in various environments, ranging from news organizations to multi-million dollar government contracts. She has demonstrated the ability to deliver quality communications documents, strategic plans, and standard operating procedures under pressure of tight deadlines, prioritize resources, as well as manage production schedules and Gantt charts.
In May of 2017, Sharon became a partner at PMP, (the acronym for Phenomenal Media Productions, Phenomenal Management Partners, and Phenomenal Moment Planners). Phenomenal Management Partners provides an array of communications and administrative support services to federal agencies and serves as a consultant to academic institutions that require infrastructure support to execute government contracts, particularly in the area of research and development. Phenomenal Moment Planners coordinates immersive, heritage‑rich travel experiences that connect people to place, culture, and community globally.
In 2022, Sharon became the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Partner and opened the Phenomenal Media Productions studio in Atlanta, where PMP creates multimedia content including streaming video shows, podcasts, and webinars. Sharon is responsible for the company's day-to-day operations.
Sharon also has public service experience. She was elected to serve two terms on the Martinsville (VA) City Council (elected in 2012 and 2016). She was appointed to the West Piedmont Planning District Commission, served on the economic development committee of the Virginia Municipal League, and served on the Board of Directors for the American Red Cross of Greater Greensboro, NC. She is a former member of Rotary International.
Currently, Sharon is an active member of the Atlanta Black Chambers and the Atlanta Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
